PBCoR Update

Recently we found documents foreshadow the future of pickleball coefficient of restitution as well as the expected spin component of this test. In this post I will not dissect the material that we have found which was available to anyone. We will just present that changes are coming quite possibly and this was never communicated to us.
We expect that pickleball coefficient of restitution will be measured at the clamp as well as on the ball. We expect a procedure for spin that is not cogent. We also expect that these rules verbatim are expected to be accepted by manufacturers without any derivation proof or explanation.
That this goes on behind the curtain of is enough. We have always stated that these rules for equipment should be made public . This is essential for transparency and this manner of updates out of the blue from the usap is not acceptable.
I would like to stress that anyone accepting these rules right now or printing 0.43 on their paddles is truly a mystery to us. There is nothing here except for a rule that is totally arbitrary. If you believe it has an effect on gameplay and you think it's going to do something for your paddles okay. Beyond that there is no meaning to this rule. It is something that the usap has come up with without any foundation. The idea of expanding on it to measurement on the clamp is just nonsense. This is the point where players need to get involved and care about their equipment. We call on the usap to make all equipment standards in the future public as well as making all updates public.
