Let's take state of pickleball paddle regulation as is. Development of new ideas has been throttled totally. You can look at it in the chart. We are at a point in the sports time when brands and half the price are becoming much more competitive to the brands of previously had no competition.

Our stance is that decertifications have a disproportionate on the market as a whole. It's very hard for her players to understand the state the manufacturers are in because a lot of it is hidden by regulation that's even difficult for us to read if it has any meaning.

Joola has stated they will be discontinuing their paddles to maintain industry standards. This makes one wonder why they were made or sold to begin with. If any knows what the standard is I bet it's Joola. We don't certainly. No questions asked. If this sport is founded on robbery it will become known as nothing but a short fad a few people got rich off.

We strongly advocate for any further decertifications to be back with actual data. We also call for a reevaluation of the rationale of pickleball coefficient of restitution and further discussion with manufacturers.

Increased cost of membership and testing fees are also burdensome and things that go unseen. Innovation is a craft thing essentially. If you want quality it's there but there's no need for it. The game is at a point of serious threat. If players care enough only time will reveal.

We need standards first then regulation. Paddles should not be breaking like this. We can make a paddle from PC or Nomex that will possibly last forever. There is no reason to normalize cheap polypropylene popsicles that can't perform or persist. To MANDATE them is robbery not sport. Except for the people who collect the checks, and not fairly called then.

We need standards for the benefit of the vast majority of pickleball players. But you'd be a fool if you let them get you a third time. This game is being built for the spectacle not the players.
